A Little About Me
Hi there, my name is Anna Kieffer and I'm so excited to be at Crestdale Middle School. I look forward to meeting our new students and having a great year.
I’m originally from Denver, Colorado and have lived in Charlotte for 20 years. I came to North Carolina after participating in an Artist in Residence program at Arrowmont School of Arts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This opportunity opened many doors for me, one of which was talking to students about my art at local K-12 schools, as well as doing workshops with students at Arrowmont.
I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts from Colorado State University with a concentration in metalsmithing and photography. I am a huge fan of mixed media art and use this combination in many of my own pieces.
Prior to coming to Crestdale, I was the half-time Art teacher at Matthews Elementary and Joseph W. Grier Elementary. I am so excited to open the door to the next level of our art students’ journey, and look forward to watching the students discover not only their artistic skills, but also their artist voice.
Our Art journey will explore a variety of artists, and their historical relevance, through art history lessons and projects. The projects we’ll explore will range from several class periods to longer, more involved processes, which will require several weeks.
I look forward to meeting you all and building long lasting relationships throughout your student’s time in Art at Crestdale.
Please contact me at any time if you have questions or concern.
